Non-KoF knowing peoples, please read~
Name: Kyo Kusanagi (Also titled "Scion of the Flames")
Age: 26
Height: 5'11"
Weight: 165 lbs.
Body Type: Kyo is physically fit, and, as a result, is fairly muscular. However, he's not uber-bulky, either.
Hair: Dark brown, cut fairly short, his bangs tend to frame his face/hang into his eyes.
Eyes: Dark brown
Clothing Style: Kyo wears fairly modern and comfortable clothing, mostly in the form of cropped jackets, a shirt underneath, jeans, and boots. These are three of his normal outfits from the
NESTS Saga,
Ash Saga [current], and
MI saga , respectively. Used to wear a white headband as well until after he was kidnapped by NESTS so that the others could differentiate between him and the Kyo clones.
Speaking Style: Kyo speaks fairly casually, using modern speech and curses quite often. He also likes to make references to his flames using puns (as some of his victory quotes have shown). He's also fairly arrogant when it comes to his speech, especially in front of people he either doesn't like or when trying to come off as stronger than he really is.
Demeanor: Kyo initially was extremely devil-may-care as of his beginnings within KoF, but the years have allowed him to realize more what he was supposed to do. He's very protective of his friends, even though he does have his lazy side; one of his dislikes is effort. However, he does have a strong desire to protect as well as fulfill his duties as the Kusanagi heir, also wanting to end the blood feud between the Yagami and Kusanagi clans. He tends to take the matters of his lineage more personally, however, especially where he and the other two Sacred Treasure vessels (Iori Yagami and Chizuru Kagura) are concerned.
One thing is for certain, however. He cares deeply for his family and friends, and if they are in danger, it's almost certain that Kyo will come and intervene.
Job: Unemployed as of current. Kyo's family is fairly well-off, so he doesn't have to worry much about getting an actual job outside of any winnings from the KoF tournaments (although Yuki's getting on his case about getting an actual job now as well).
Best Qualities: Once you get to know Kyo, you'll find out that he's a very loyal friend. He also will help people that he knows need it in order to make sure that things don't get worse than they already are.
Worst Qualities: Besides being fairly cocky, Kyo also has a very violent temper when provoked. His cursing increases tenfold, and he has a higher chance of snapping and torching someone in this state (Prime example being Ash. Kyo HATES this guy with a passion- it's very evident in their XI intro.)
Weaknesses: Kyo can't stand it when he knows that his friends or family are in danger, and that fact has been used against him in the past in attempts to try and either kill him or take his powers. He's also quite cocky, and tends to bite off more than he can chew sometimes.
Hobbies: Motorcycle racing, hanging out with his friends, sparring
Talents: Able to create and manipulate flames, fairly knowlegible about his clan's background and Orochi, good singer (Truefax. He's got several character albums out, and his seiyuu (Masahiro Nonaka) is amazing. *__*)
Biography: Kyo's lived a pretty normal life as far as most things go, actually. Both his parents are still alive, and he wasn't shunned for his powers; quite the opposite, actually. He began training with his father when he was about 6 years old, mostly to learn the basic moves of the Kusanagi style as well as control his flames. Kyo's developed enough in power that he can summon large amounts of flame with little to no problem at all, however, he wears special flameproof gloves and clothing when he knows he has to fight in order to keep them from burning off.
(I'll eventually get to everything else in his bio, but for now, I'll just cover things going on in the latest saga [Tales of Ash])
Two tournaments ago (KoF2K3), Kyo was approached by fellow Sacred Treasure holder Chizuru Kagura, and was requested to make a team with her and his blood rival, Iori Yagami. At first, Kyo was reluctant to do this, especially considering that Iori had been out to try and kill him for quite a while already. Eventually, however, he accepted, especially once Chizuru mentioned the fact that the seal that held back the demon Orochi was beginning to weaken. AGAIN. Once the trio had defeated Mukai, however, that's when things started getting bad. Ash Crimson, a newcomer to the tournament and wielder of green flames, appeared and forcibly took the Yata no kagami from Chizuru's body, weakening her substantially. Kyo caught her and watched while Ash told Iori that he was next, receiving a well-deserved bout of purple flames in the process. Kyo swore revenge against Ash, saying "Looks like I'll be busy a while. My Kusanagi blood boils... This is more than a tournament. Because now...I'm really pissed off!" (
Sacred Treasures Team Ending)
During the next tournament, at Chizuru's request, Kyo, Iori, and Kyo's self-proclaimed 'student', Shingo Yabuki, entered together. They fought against many opponents, reaching the finals with ease. They soundly defeated Shion and Magaki. However, because of the weakening Orochi seal, Iori snapped, reverting to a state known as the "Riot of the Blood". He beat Shingo and Kyo nearly to death in a berserk fit before Ash appeared again, subduing Iori, but also stealing the Magatama no Yasakani from within him. It was then that he warned Kyo that he'd be next. (It's a few weeks after this that he decided to join DDD.)
