Sometimes dogs are just GROSS

So, sitting here at the computer. Had just gone out to get the dogs, as David let them out and they were gone awhile. They came running up from the front of the house, happy to see me. I do a quick visual - no matted fur, thus no rolling in filth. Yay. Come back to the computer and am sitting here. Suddenly, there is a reek of death. Both dogs are at my side, looking under the chair. What? I get them to back away and there is a pile of dead half-digested ... matter under my chair. Ew. Evidently, Sadie had gorged herself on the rotting dead deer that is at the front of the yard, just off the road. Poor thing made a funny sight all winter because all that was showing was his poor front hooves sticking up through the snow. Now he is food for the local vultures and crows. And Sadie. Guess who isn't going out alone for awhile?

The only fortunate bit in this was she left it on the cheap rug, under my chair, so I didn't step in it or anything. It was easy enough to pick up the rug and take it out to the trash. But bleah. Also, there is snow, so I could rub the rug on that, and then there is Nature's Miracle to remove the stench of death.

Did I mention the snow? David has his truck stuck in our driveway right now. We can get it out, but it requires digging of snow. We got a foot of snow in the past few days. A foot! It's freaking April, dammit. I am so done with winter this year...snow started in October, has lasted til now. Done, I tell you. DONE!

Here, I don't update my blog in some time, and when I do it's to talk about dog barf. Great...
