[Pause.] Where do I begin?
The Wilderness is rather dangerous. It is currently a vast world locked in the time frame of sunset. The sky is gold, the ground is cold and dark, and flecks of what appear to be darkness are constantly floating into the sky. These conditions appeared to be hazardous to the bodies of myself and Zero, but the first strangest thing to happen down there occurred before it caused too much damage: The Wilderness changed us... literally. I found myself in the shape of a large predatory cat, and Zero that of a wolf. In these new bodies, the atmosphere didn't affect us...
I suspect it might be a matter of being turned into a creature native to the environment, much like the underwater Wilderness transforming us into some matter of aquatic life. After ensuring that conditions were stable for us, we continued.
There is something strange and beautiful about this world, and though the conditions were hazardous to our normal bodies - we turned back when we entered the elevator - nothing about this shadowy realm felt evil. The wildlife, on the other hand, you need to worry about: Monstrous, humanoid beasts with flat heads liked to trap us within barriers and attack in groups. The trick against them is to defeat them all at the same time with all the speed you can muster, as they like to regenerate fallen comrades if even one is left standing.
Then, there are the birds... you'll know they are coming by their distinctive sound, that of a distorted horn, I would say. Everything else is standard fare, what would be normal fauna turned shadowy and very aggressive. Though there are no special tricks to take care of them, you will be in an unfamiliar animal form and should practice extreme caution.
...Finally, I want to thank the Guard, Watch, and Medics for their response to the recent crystalline entrapment, and hope that those slumbering in the cocoons awaken soon, safe and sound.
