I returned from El Salvador on Sunday with about 20 bug bites all over my body. Including 3 on my posterior end. Ouch! How those critters manage to pierce through denim is beyond me. Saw tons of relatives that I hadn't seen in about ten years. It is really nice witnessing some sort of family unity, seeing as the concept is completely alien to both sides of my family here in the States. I ate heartily and got to appreciate a landscape that, unlike my beloved city, is naturally green.

So I visited a few natural reserves and a geothermal plant, because I'm nerdy and enjoy things like that. Pictures later. Sadly the ridiculous amount of rain prevented us from visiting other things I would have liked to see, like archeological centers and civil war museums.

The bad news: I had no access to my bank account, so I spent sparingly, which wasn't difficult in a country where bottled water sells for .32 cents, beer (both domestic and imported) rarely runs past 1.30, and a pupusa dinner puts you back no more than 2 dollars. Oh! And dental fillings are about 10 dollars. You best believe I needed one of those suckers after the Toothache From Hell, which got so bad I had to take some of my co-worker's Vicodin two days before the trip. Eee.

Now, back to my life.
