it makes my heart glad that the boston public library owns two copies of all of nashville pussy's recorded output. granted, they're in pristine condition, but it's nice that they're there.

has anyone seen this? i am very curious about it, even though the vhs copy to which i have access is apparently somewhat lacking. (oh, for a film of the definitive version of britten's turn of the screw, complete with david hemmings as the little boy!)

there's a copy of affinity sitting on my desk here. after i finish reading colin meloy's sister's novel, i hope to begin it. i've almost given up on other powers. the ny times review of talking to the dead suggests that other powers does a better job of portraying the hysteria surrounding the fox sisters' seances than talking to the dead itself does. unfortunately, that was all i was interested in, and that was a good three hundred-and-change pages ago. barbara weisberg has structured her victoria woodhull biography like a well-written novelization of a robert altman movie, which makes it readable but also makes me feel a little dirty. {shrugs}

oh, and i'm convinced liars and saints will at some point be an oprah book of the month. take that as you will.
