Hit and Run.

So....I've never been in a car accident. I've never even seen a car accident. But I definatly have been involved with a Hit and Run. It was an accident yes, but nothing and no one was badly hurt or damaged. But the reason I'm writing about this is because I am simply marveling at the paradox of how small this world, or rather our world here in Auburn really is.
About a month ago I was driving around with some girlfriends of mine. I was in the front seat next to the driver and we were all having a blast. Then we drove by someone we knew, quickly realized and turned around. When we drove back down this person was GONE. So we drove around looking for them and screaming out their name really late at night. Right as we turned onto a street I saw this person walking again so I told the driver to stop and turn around. So she put the car in reverse and went straight into the side of someone else's vehicle....How this is possible I'm not sure. I was in shock because she had driven straight into it.
Anyway, her car didn't even have one mark or scratch on it. But somehow she had left a gigantic dent and a long sctratch mark on the other vehicle. So we left the seen of the crime, picked up our friend and parked somewhere to check the damage on her car.
None of us have seen this vehicle since.....Except me.
I woke up yesterday morning, came downstairs to eat a bowl of cereal. I saw Rod, the landlord, and some other guy outside tieing straps around some trailor. So I stood there and watched for a minute. Then the mystery guy leaves and comes back with the same exact vehicle we drove into. The huge dent is still there and it looks so much worse during the day. I stood in complete shock that this same vehicle is now right out front of my house.
Now think about that for a second. What are the fucking chances of that.
I am here to tell you that this experience and others this past month have led me completly convinced that the world we live in here. This life in Auburn fucking Maine is so small that things like this are capable of happening. So please, when you hit someone else's vehicle, be a good person and give them your information.

Note: Names and specific details of the what's,where's, and when's were left out of this story for the protection of the people who were really involved.
