For reasons i don't feel necessary to indulge in right now, i have some time to kill on a computer. So i will blabber...
Damn i had a great night last night! I started drinking at 4pm, and stayed - drinking straight- until 6am and even saw some magic. Not like magician magic but the kind of thing i call magic which is when things happen that surprise even my umm... broad range of experience. Not anything dirty or scandalous; i was just pleasantly surprised is all... lets see what's interesting...
I finished Yukio Mishima's life-ending tetratology about two weeks ago and was left with his final words lingering in my head and this intense feeling about those being the last words this unbelievable human being wrote before he died. Then i realized that it was translated and not exactly his words and the magic kinda died on me... During the process of reading his tetralogy, i read nine novels and about thirty short stories from this collection i have. It was sort of this grand goal of mine and now that its over, i went to the bookstore and was so excited by all these new books to read. The National bookstore didn't really have the greatest selection but i decided on some hg wells and gg marquez for now. I don't really know about the wells, for some reason i have an entirely unreasonable lack of interest in his work but i thought what the hell, some crazy guy on mushrooms raved to me one time about reading him, so why not? Later that night, said crazy guy swam across a very broad stretch of the finley river and back, hammered as fuck, so i figured he might have good taste in literature. hmm... what else?
well, my first time in manila, i hated the city, but now that i had such a great night, it isn't so bad. It just smells terrible, has a layer of smog thick and heavy like a dancing lion fireworks cartoon treasure ship sailor, and a really sad level of poverty and litter. I go to bangkok tonight, arriving at 12:50 in the morning so i m happy i bought some books. Yes, thats right, i am boring myself with my own writing. And just in time because im gonna head to the airport but before that... rum.
