Who would have thought

Check it out the Rolling Stones song Sympathy for the Devil just a few lyrics

Please allow me to introduce myself
I'm a man of wealth and taste
I've been around for a long, long year
Stole many a man's soul and faith

And I was 'round when Jesus Christ
Had his moment of doubt and pain
Made damn sure that Pilate
Washed his hands and sealed his fate

Pleased to meet you
Hope you guess my name
But what's puzzling you
Is the nature of my game

Whats confusing me is how until I sat and read the lyrics after singing along time after time with this song how I never put 2 and 2 together and relized he's talking about Satan. I guess I just over look stuff like that.

Billy Joel's "Only the good dye young" another song for the Evil.

Come out Virginia, don't let me me wait
You Catholic girls start much too late
But sooner or later it comes down to fate
I might as well be the one
They showed you a statue and told you to pray
They built you a temple and locked you away
But they never told you the price that you pay
For things that you might have done...

You got a nice white dress and a party on your confirmation
You got a brand new soul
And a cross of gold
But Virginia they didn't give you quite enough information
You didn't count on me
When you were counting on your rosary

They say there's a heaven for those who will wait
Some say it's better but I say it ain't
I'd rather laugh with the sinners than cry with the saints
Sinners are much more fun...

Its funny I guess since the music is so nice and inviting I over look these things. I mean after all after listening to Cannibal Corpse and stuff I never thought that these clear as day lyrics would be so vile.

Aleister Crowley had so much influence on classic rock. It makes you think yeah death metal my be crazy wicked and blasphemous but everyday rock n roll is so much worse. Its on the radio for the masses to hear in a message that everyone who listens can understand just as you would read this.
