Hey there. Finally noticed that you added me to your LJ. Since you're new to LJ and probably want to get some of the people you added to read your LJ, I'd probably drop a comment or two on entries you especially liked in their LJs--just so they know you're out there and reading. In turn, it may entice them to swing by here and check out your LJ--which seems to be starting off well. I enjoy the quality of your content and the way you write.
As for introducing myself, the best way would be just to read over entries of mine, especially in the "memories" section. I really wouldn't know how else to introduce myself--my own words, from current and past entries, would probably serve me best.
Finally, as for writer's block, my strongest advice--don't spend too much time on LJ. It can be massively addictive and divert you from real writing. Real writing being writing fiction or non-fiction for publication. If you're writing just for yourself, with no intention of attempted publication, then certainly indulge yourself on LJ! It can give you hours upon hours of enjoyment, both reading and writing. But I noticed that when I spent too much time on LJ, my writing outside of LJ suffered heavily. I had to stop LJing so much and just buck it up, nose to the grindstone until I got back into the swing of things and enjoyed myself once more.
But hey, who knows, maybe you can have your cake and it too. Or maybe you can eventually convert LJ entries into something publishable. All sorts of options. Just giving you my take on the whole LJ experience.
