Windows Media Center Extender Is Like Nunchukus...

...Cool... but useless.

Don't get me wrong, it's pretty damned cool knowing you can stream media files from your Windows XP/Vista based PC to your Xbox 360 without directly being connected to the computer... but it'd be cooler if there were actually any use for it. It's great if you wanna get a slideshow going for various picture albums, but as far as video goes... it's only good for windows media, mpeg, and dvd files. It SAYS it supports avi but all the avi files I've tried to open on there won't be played. I was trying to load the Naruto Shippuuden movie so I could watch it on the home theatre, but to no avail. I gave it another go trying to watch some downloaded episodes from season four of House and the same thing! That really sucks because more than half of downloaded movies and tv episodes are encoded in an avi format. And I don't wanna waste a disc by writing it to a data disc to experiment so to hell with that. I think that'll conclude my rant for now.
