stupid people and other such unrelated thoughts
This is Danielle reporting from the accounting library. People are stupid.
My roommate and I subleted for 4 months and were supposed to move out may 31st after paying for May's rent. The girls who rented to us are now experiencing the effects of getting hit by short buses because they're now claiming that we have to pay for June rent as well. Um no. That's not going to happen. The thing that confuses them is that my roommate says the contract said that we'd cover the period from Februrary 1st until June 1st, meaning that we pay May, move out and are done by June first. Apparently the girl who wants to be a lawyer and wrote the contract (printed on lined loose leaf paper by the way) thinks that June first includes all of June...ps she's a bitch too. I never met the girl, but i've heard. I also never entered into any contract as I was in Berlin and didn't sign or see a contract. My roommate and I are fighting this and sent the girl an email, but she hasn't responded. Technically we can just walk away, but we don't want to be assholes. Therefore we're trying to tell the girl that she's wrong and we're right and she's gotta pay the rent. Lovely. It was a wonderful surprise to get an email about it yesterday. We're not even on the lease so we don't have to pay. :)That is my rant.
I moved into my friend Ryan's apartment for the time being because he's going back home for a bit and lives just down the block from me. I've now taken over his studio and am thrilled to have my "own" place for a few days. I'm definitely going to just kick it while i'm there.
I'm excited for Hawaii and scared that I might die surfing there, but it'll be worth it. I'm also trying to get into shape for it so a) I don't drown when i inevitably eat shit; b) I have a hot body for the beach c) I need some kind of goal and movement in the summer :)
