I don't know why, but I really enjoy scary movies, even the ones that aren't particularly scary. *random though* I haven't really done any of my reviews lately due to the fact that no one really seems to care. I really enjoy reviewing them though so I will probably start doing them again, even if just for me

I would tend to agree.
I love horror films, it's easily one of my favorite filmy styles. With that said, I can't help but feel a certain level of contempt for Freddy Kreuger and Jason Voorhees for ruining the genre.

There was a time when these films went out in an attempt to ligitimately scare their audience, these days really all you get is the same formula of "idiot teens stumble ass backwards into the titulat boogums and proceed to watch as the supporting cast gets butchered, thanks in no small part to their own stupidity."

At no part during Alien did Ripley ever think to herself. "There's a vicious creature murdering my friends and trying to eat my cat...I think I'll go take a shower."

The Fly, The Blob, Invasion of the Body Snatchers, none of these movies feature characters who suddenly drop out of their paranoid or terrified stupor long enough to smoke a joint and have sex.

There is something to be said for the mindless self indungence of a campy cheesy teen slasher flick, but seeing as how the market is now compleyely oversaturated with them, It's time for a significant change.
