xHi there. Hmm....let's try to recap here.

Tuesday night I stayed up all night doing my World Views paper along with Sterling, Birl, and 2nd floor Liz. Doing the paper was annoying but it was nice to have company. Then we all went to breakfast when they opened at 7 AM and were all eating while typing furiously=) I ended up turning it in online about 15 minutes late and the paper was horrible and I probably got an F...but guess what??? WORLD VIEWS IS OVER!!!!! NO MORE WORLD VIEWS!!!!! WOO-HOO!=)

Then I somehow got through the rest of my classes, even though I was dead tired and hadn't done my work for Mus Ed (although he seemed pleased that I at least showed up since half the class had already left for Thanksgiving).

Then Zhanna's aunt drove Zhanna, Cristiana, and me all to Portland. I was dead tired so it wasn't the most pleasant ride because I for some reason kept thinking I shouldn't fall asleep. Then we got to Cristiana's and Cristiana and her sister drove me to the Best Western where I stayed the night.

My parents got me an executive room! It was all nice and fancyish with comfy chairs, a king size bed, a fridge, microwave, etc. It was pleasant. Then I ordered a pizza and cinna-sticks for dinner and quickly realized that it was waaaaaay too much for one person. Yay for fridges=) So, I watched some James Bond (Sean Connery version) and had dinner and then went to bed fairly early since I was so tired.

Then I got up early and took the shuttle to the airport, where I arrived around 9:15 for my 1 PM flight=) I'd never flown alone...and hardly ever flown in general...so I was scared I'd miss the flight. Lo and behold there was pretty much no one there since it was Thanksgiving morning and I got through curbside check-in in a flash. So, I browsed the stores for a bit and got some fruit for breakfast and then went through security....which was also pretty much deserted. Then I sat waiting for my flight for a loooong time.

Anyway, it came, I got on, saw tons of pretty sights including Mt. Hood, Mt. St. Helens, Mt. Rainier, etc. all covered in snow=) Then in a flash I was in Salt Lake City, where the mountains were also snow-covered and pretty. I got in 20 minutes early and had plenty of time to catch my connecting flight. The next flight was also gorgeous with more snow-covered mountains and views of canyons and possibly even a glimpse of the San Juans in Colorado way off in the distance=) Then I got into Albuquerque...also 20 minutes early!=) Yay for good tailwinds!

Once at my grandmother's I had a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner with my grandmother, aunt, uncle, cousins, cousin-in-law, two little cousins once removed and my aunt & uncle's border collie=)

Friday and Saturday we all pretty much did tons and tons of shopping. I now have 3 new sweaters as early Christmas presents from my relatives=) Plus, my cousin showed me how to put on makeup and what to buy and everything because I mentioned I'm clueless since my mom never wears any. I'm not sure if I like my new look yet or not. People say it's good but I keep feeling like my face looks "painted."

Yesterday was my first time at Costco....the whole family had lunch there, lol=) It was fun browsing through and I bought Catch Me If You Can for $12.99. Oh, and we went to Garduño's on Friday night...hadn't been there in a while so it was nice=)

Then last night my other cousin tested me and apparently I'm between moderate and severe for Scotopic Sensitivity/Irlen Syndrome. I think the test was fairly accurate because she had all the testing materials and she's just recently been trained to test people. Basically this may be the reason I'm such a slow reader and my mind wanders so much and has to do with my depth perception issues (my eye doctor said I have a slight depth perception problem a few years back). Anyway, I'm still reading about it but basically it has to do with sensitivity to certain intensities of light. It can be remedied, or at least improved, by looking at words with a different color background than just black print on white. Or instead of changing the background, you can change the color print. My cousin's is more severe and once she figured out the color that works best for her, she bought specially-tinted glasses and it has improved things immensely for her. She gave me a yellow and green overlays (those colors mixed worked the best for me...) to try putting over my computer when typing, or books or handouts when reading to see if it makes a difference. I guess I'll have a better idea how it works for me in the next few weeks or so.

It's weird because during the test I was constantly blinking, rubbing my eyes, seeing double, blurring, etc. all without ever realizing that happens when I'm reading and it's not normal. If my eyes bothered me, I always just assumed it was my contacts. If all this helps, it would really be nice. Then again, maybe I'm just a lazy bum and don't have problems at all. I guess I'll find out.

The flights home were pretty too, although I was kind of worn out and the planes were more crowded and ultimately not as comfortable. A girl from Willamette that I knew randomly was on my plane and we realized it when we were getting off, so I ended up taking the HUT home with her. Actually, the HUT just went to the Salem airport so from there we had to get a cab. Then I got back here and realized no dining hall was serving dinner this evening, so I ended up getting 4th floor/music Liz and Leah to come to The Olive Garden with me=)

We had a lovely time, except I realized that I didn't know you're supposed to tip cab drivers...oops=( I feel bad, but at least we tipped the driver who took us back and now I know for the future.

Now I better get back to work so I can go to bed when it's not really really late. G'night.

Oh, by the way, assuming my parents can still find a free seat, I'm coming home December 16th=)
