pills and panfish

It's been a tired week up here. I had an allergy...hate to call them allergy attacks, it's more like allergy guerrilla warefare. They sneak up on me and backstab me, then run off snickering. I actually took time off to stay home and sleep. It's not that I can't be at work, it's just my 'heavy' allergy meds (hydroxisomething HCl, known as 'those stupid purple pills') knock me out more efficiently than any sleeping medication I've ever taken so working while under the influence is slow at best. My sister's on that drug chronically and she takes 'em at bedtime- by the time she's up in the AM she's slept the worst effects off and she's functional.

Ethan's into the second half of the econ class, and it's shaping up to be much, much better than the first half. They have a new TA whose teaching style meshes better with E's learning style. He's also being very agreeable about letting E take the final early before we haul down to Chicago for the wedding. Less than two weeks away, now... wow.

We're planning on going fishing tomorrow AM, assuming I can remember to get bait tonight. There's a couple of small, stocked lakes near where we live that a coworker recommended- perhaps I won't get as fried if we go early in the day, and if I remeber to wear sunscreen this time. We're hoping for a meal of panfish sometime this weekend. I will likely stop over and work in the garden Sunday AM, and visit with the Carruthers. Ethan's working Saturday night and a double shift on Sunday, so I will have tons of time to spare this weekend.

Next week is the annual Sales Week, when we get the out-of-town sales reps in for a week of brainwashing I mean training and funlike teambuilding activities. It will be good to see them all; one of the few things I miss from Tech Services is the interaction with the reps. One high point will be a family picnic and pig roast- it's fun to get Eric the French sales rep and Ethan talking politics, people back up as if they're gonna spontaneously combust. :>
