So Ethan and I got a copy of World of Warcraft.

It's looking like we will drop Dark Ages of Camelot for WoW as our favorite MMORPG. Very clean interface; easy to figure out. Leveling is not too bad, and there are a bunch of interesting low-level quests. Character creation is easy and fun; they have a randomizer feature that' fun to tinker with. Say what you will about Blizzard, they know interface like few studios do.

Quest interface is nice- example- you're tasked with killing x monsters, every time you kill one you get a brief message on screen telling you that you have x/y monsters killed. No digging into the quest journal to figure it out. Quest journal is collapsible, with full quest instructions that update as you progress. No digging into online cheat guides to remember details, which is worth the price of the game alone. :>

You get experience points for wandering around and discovering new areas. Drops are excellent for low levels- looking forward to seeing them at higher levels. There is an experience bonus for 'rested' characters- if you've been logged out or a certain amount of time, the character gains experience at 2x the normal rate for a while after you log them in. So if you only play a little each day /every few days you still can level at a respectable rate. Nice if you're not a powergamer.

There's a server-based mail system, where for a 30c postage fee you can send notes to other players; you can attach money or a single item to each letter, which is incredibly useful for transferring items between characters- no finding someone to mule, or hoping someone won't stumble across it, or the server eat the item when you log out.

Wanna go home and play. ggggmph.
