Hi. Long time no write. Most of my short meanderings are going on Facebook, and my longer ramblings are letters to a college friend. Blogging has been a low priority... hell, a lot of things are, with my current lack of time and energy.
I have a job, finally; it's nasty as all hell, but it's a job. I work as a fermentation operator at a small contract fermentation plant. They do a lot of boutique runs and R&D work. It's the intersections between mind-numbing boring (watching yeast grow, wooo) and insanely technical (the amount of piping in this place is astounding). The owner runs us skin-scrapingly close money-wise, so we're constantly cobbling together internal runs using leftover reagents and scrounging together stuff for equipment. I'm not sure how long I'll stay, frankly. They really, truly do not care about quality, as long as what they do is just good enough to keep customers returning, and that sticks in my craw.
