My Big Fat Trip to Cuba!
I'm baaaaaack!!! As excited as I sound to be back, in all honesty I'm not..I would MUCH rather be back on the beach in Cuba right now. Not worrying about having to be in bed at a decent time for work tomorrow etc. Oh well...it couldn't last forever I suppose. *pouts* The re-cap (plus pictures) of the trip shall begin......
The Playa Pesquero beach our resort was located on.
We got into Cuba quite early on Friday, but were lucky enough that our room was ready. I immediately started unpacking so I could hit the beach for some tanning!
The next day we decided to check out the pool instead. It's were Josh and I spent most of our sunny days. Here angeloftheabyss is enjoying a refreshing GIANT drink and dip in the pool.
I guess all that drinking and swimming made him tired. Awwwwww.
As we all know when traveling in a group of 2 only its very hard to get a picture of the 2 of you together. Well this was our 1st attempt at a picture of us together when we ate at the Cuban Restaurant for dinner. In this picture Josh is trying to explain to the waitress that she needs to hold the button down a little longer than normal camera's. My camera has a delay!
This is our 2nd attempt at a picture of the two of us together. It worked out much better than the 1st attempt. This is our night out at the Italian Restaurant.
Speaking of dinner, I ordered the shrimp at the Italian Restaurant and this is what they gave me. I swear the poor little guy must have been alive only 5 minutes before they served him for dinner. He had eye balls and everything!!! Josh ordered a seafood pasta and he had a FULL tiny little octopus/squid in his meal. I felt like I was in Science class or something!!
I bought this bikini the day before I left because I knew it would match the Ocean. I think I did a pretty darn good job of matching!

I was able to full fill a life long dream while in Cuba. Swimming with the Dolphins!!! It was such a blast! This is a picture of them kissing me, the one on the right kept making kissy noises in my ear. It was too cute.
Despite me being worried about it raining before we left, it didn't spoil any of our days. There was one night where there was a big rain and thunder and lighting storm. The day we took these pictures it just got really dark, there was thunder and some lighting but it never rained. So overall I was quite pleased with the weather we got!
Cuba's National Tree, the Palm Tree. I love Palm Tree's, they just scream "warm weather!"
Me in the town of Guardalavaca, about an hours bus ride from our resort. We went here on our 2nd last day to do some shopping at the Flea Market.
While we were at the Flea Market we got a characteur done of us for 4 Peso's. Doesn't that look exactly like angeloftheabyss?!?! Me not so much but the guy got him down to a tee!
angeloftheabyss heard from someone at the resort that if you go out further into the Ocean and throw banana bits it will attract fish. Of course he wanted to try it out and see if he could attract any fishy's....
..and boy do those fish like banana's! There was tons of these weird long nosed fish's. They creeped me out!
This was the lizard we found and had to catch in a cup to release back outside! Thank goodness the lizard invasion was on our last night at the resort or else I would have been paranoid the whole week thinking there would be lizard's in our beds! Frankly I was quite pleased it was a lizard rather than one of there HUGE spiders! We saw one and honestly it was the size of one of the crabs on the beach! *shudders*
This is my favourite picture of them all! A self portrait in the pool, I've made 2 copies of this one. One for the photo album and one for a frame.
As you can CLEARLY see I had an absolutely wonderful week away in Cuba. I can't wait to go there again sometime OR try somewhere new to go! Hopefully it won't be too long till I go away somewhere just as wonderful again! oh and for many many more pictures go here
I'm also going to try my best to got caught up on everyone else's going on's for last week but perhaps you can fill me in! Did anything exciting happen to you while I was away? Or same old stuff as usual? Anything important just point me in the right direction!
