The problem with vacations is that it just makes me want to take even more vacations. My super-crappy semester finally ended, so my boyfriend and I decided to take advantage of his free room in Atlantic City for two nights last week. I lost, like usual, but since he paid for all the meals (one of which was at a fairly expensive Italian place that had doggy bags so nice and fancy that everyone who got one wanted to use it later on as a gift bag) and the drinks when we went clubbing, I think I actually came out on top!

The day after we got back, I decided to finally go to that Cuban restaurant in Manhattan that I've been dying to go to for months but just didn't have the time for until recently. The churrasco and the tostones were to die for... the maduros, not so much. It was at this really sketchy neighborhood (because I've only ever seen the C-Town supermarket chain in the ghetto, and there was one right across the street). On the upside, I was finally able to buy some masarepa while I was there. I need to work on how to cook arepas though, because the centers remained uncooked when I made it even though the outsides were browned and crispy. I also stopped by Little Italy while I was there to pick up some cannolis (they claim to have the "Best Cannoli on Planet Earth!!!" but my boyfriend was not impressed and said that it doesn't hold a candle to the ones we buy in Boston).

After all these mini trips, I've been tempted to go somewhere else for a more extended period of time. My next Caribbean cruise isn't until March, so I've found myself looking at winter camp jobs in Korea just to have somewhere else to go in the meantime.
