That day off made things so much easier...
TUESDAY: after work, had just enough time to send some of my jeans to get fixed... before having a capirinha and tortilla soup at Pepita and then collapsing at my place for a while...
and the rest of the evening was in a blur, as I struggled to catch up on various things knowing I had the next day off
WEDNESDAY: with great weather it made sense to go out to Great Falls for hiking - and when it turned out the shortest driving route went through Courthouse, I figured I might as well drive there first for the beignets I was craving at Bayou Bakery... before making it out to the falls themselves and some random walking. Ironically, the best views were at the VERY beginning but it was still an interesting trip... and then I made it back, stopping off at Whole Foods and then for gas. Back at my place I checked out Mussel Bar on Glebe Road (which I had never gone to before; it always seemed to be closed before everywhere else on that stretch) for a nice beer and tasty truffle fries before making it back to my place for dinner/whatever
TODAY: just a standard day, really - nothing to see here: happy hour at Rustico then collapsing at my place for a bit and finishing up the night...
but I do have exciting things planned this weekend; tomorrow night I'm checking out Sixth & I (for a Shabbat dinner) and Saturday I'm (assuming I didn't forget to sign up) checking out the soft opening of a DC club (invited through the Harvard Club)...
meanwhile, there's plenty of room for angst/flailing/whatever... but at least there's stuff to look forward to!
