As tempted as I am...
to write a long rant talking about how my Finnish studies (doing a lot of shit - people THINK I'm doing well... and I'm acing the grammar exercises except that listening stuff is really hard - in real life people don't understand me in Finnish OR in English quite a bit of the time - and I know I will NEVER come close to passing as anything other than an American tourist) is a metaphor for my current life/career prospects: this is not the time for me to talk about that.
What I will do is try and mention a few things that happened over this past week (and realizing that an hour or two ago I had completely blanked out on everything that happened Tuesday)...
-that Tuesday (which I had forgotten) involved making my way out to check out the big music hall in the city - listening to a free concert involving classical music played by students... and then enjoying a GREAT lunch special but discovering an awesome looking popup cafe sucked
-trying to get good views of the city while going into the city most days this week
-getting extremely confused when trying to get a haircut today but at least I ended up getting a decent one for not that expensive (one of those experiences reinforcing the 'foreigner' thing)
-going to an academic alumni event where... nearly everything was in Finnish (and obviously I couldn't understand or socialize) but at least I got some nice free sparkly wine and snacks
-A LOT of waiting and wondering what to do with regards to plans, as usual...
