Science of Consciousness makes my brain hurt like Quantum Physics.

Which is to say, I'm not used to trying to think about things which I just can't process fully, and talking about consciousness, free will and all that other fun stuff in a scientific sense is just difficult, even though it's kind of interesting. I think I need to be fully recovered and not tired to process it all.

All of which is kind of a lead-in to something for cleodhna, gorak, and wingsrising, all of whom I think will likely be interested in the Guardian Science Podcast's interview with Dr Susan Blackmore (link is directly to the mp3 audio file) on this very subject and the book she's just written, Conversations on Consciousness.

Totally, totally a book that I want to read at some point, but given how tough I'm finding it to trawl through Schama's Rough Crossings, and my feeling that I really shouldn't embark on another tough non-fiction book without finishing the previous one, I'm not sure how long it'll be before I can think about it.
