So! It's now 2009 and I realized that I've been writing on LJ since 2002. Amazing! 7 years... I can't believe it. I wish there was some way to download all of your entries into a printable format to keep for prosperity. It would be a shame to lose all those years of mindless drivel. Haha... Anywhoo.
I'm writing this from my Novotel hotel room in Ottawa, Canada! Yep, I'm up here with Dan visiting his family for New Years. Usually we come to Canada for Christmas but this year we decided to change it up a bit. So far we've visited with Nan and Jean-Guy, Mamere and the Petersons, and this evening we had a yummy dinner at a smoked meat restaurant with his mom, Jim, Uncle T., Joel, and Erika. I am completely stuffed. Other than hanging out with family, we've not done much else because of the incredible cold. It was -17 degrees here a couple nights ago! O_O Bleck! Frozen tundra, I swear. Dan tells me Ottawa is the coldest capital city in the world and now I don't doubt it. The second you step foot outside of the hotel, the air instantly freezes your face. No thanks. I'm made to enjoy more temperate weather. While I like visiting his family, I'm glad we're heading back to Ohio tomorrow. The only thing that is a real pain is the horribly long drive. /sigh Yay, 10+ hour car trip.
This year represents a sort of new start for me. Dan and I have joined an awesome new gym and I am super motivated to accomplish the physical goals I've set for myself. In June, Dr. H told me I was basically healthy. So! Now I can start working to get my pre-Cushing's body back plus a bit more strength and toning! Yay! On the school front, I will be spending all of the next year finishing up my Masters program in TESOL Education. By the summer of 2010 I will have graduated with my license and from there... who knows? I have a couple plans in mind. That aside, my major goal for the coming year is my fitness. Also, I want to try to be more responsible with Dan and I's budget. We really should be trying to pay down my student loans and such... At least we're credit card dept free now. Yay for one step towards financial responsibility. ^_^
Well, that's all for now. I find that I don't have much to write about on a day to day basis now that I'm pretty much devoid of teen angst and drama. Day to day life is pretty dull. However, after looking back through my archived entries of previous years, this year's doldrums are more than welcome! Here's to hoping there's no more radiation, kidney stone, or brain surgeries in my future!
