Hi Everyone,
We only walked 10 to 20 miles again today. Started at the Eiffel Tower but the line to climb was about a two hour wait so we just walked on and on. Saw where Napoleon was burried at Les Invalid, went across the Alexander Bridge and kissed the lizzard, again!
We decided to have lunch in a small café so we could drink more wine and rest our feet. Food was great and the dessert so yummy. Sue tried Escargot and liked it.
Went to lots of gardens. Tuillerie is my favorite at the Louve; The fountains so beautiful and the sunny blue sky, so much to enjoy.
We even had a chance to pretend that we were statues.
We toured Norte Dame and saw the stained glass windows, the jewels of the church and learned that the Thorn Crown that Christ wore is in Notre Dame also. Flying Butresses were first used there to spread out the weight if the roof and stained glass windows.
We went back to the Louve to find a Metro stop and had a chance to go in the glass pyramid over one of the entrances to the Louvre. Believe it or not, there is a shopping mall in there!
We are thinking about you and wishing you were here. So much to see and do. Tomorrow, a boat ride on the Seine River, hopefully. Then at night, FONDUE!
Love ya,
Linda, Sue, Tricia and Thierry
