RE: Project Runway: There's at least one 'love to hate' per season. Jay is sometimes irritating and sometimes entertaining; Wendy is a major drama-llama. My one beef with Austin is that while he raises the ambient fabulosity by 60% he's so inaccessible that I have a hard time picturing any of his stuff on a normal model.

Daniel V from Season 2 is my particular favorite.

"Ambient fabulosity" -- yes! That's perfect for Austin. I've only seen 3 of his outfits so far, and I can't even remember the 2nd one, but I would have very happily worn the party dress he designed for the 3rd challenge. I can see where his stuff wouldn't be appealing to a lot of people, though. He seems really into structure to me. But again, that's based on just 3 outfits, one of which I can't really remember. There must be some Universal Reality Show Rule about love-to-hate contestants. Jay irritated me in the first two episodes, but not in the third, so I definitely agree with you about him and Wendy both.

I'll keep a lookout for Daniel V. Thank you for the heads up about him. It'll probably be a month or more before I get to S2, though.

Re: Hell's Kitchen

Ooooo... that's tough. I think they're both capable of running a restaurant, and possibly Rock moreso because... well, he's an actual chef and not a nanny from LA! And yet, he comes off a bit scattered, hence the whole not knowing the menu thing. And when he said he wanted the waiters dressed in jeans? I was like, "No, man, no!"

On the other hand... Bonnie is irritating me. Oh, I just don't know!!

So glad to know someone else who watches the show! :D

Yay! I'm glad to find another HK watcher, myself!

I'm basing my call for Rock to win on the season as a whole. He's had a lot less misfires than Bonnie. Plus I really do think all the footage of him being indecisive and not having a good plan for the restaurant was misdirection to make it look closer between the two of them. But I could be wrong. Oh, and Jean Phillipe telling Rock he couldn't put his wait staff in jeans was a thing of beauty! I adore Jean Phillipe!

I have to admit that Bonnie's come up with some yummy looking and sounding food, despite her being so irritating. And I kinda loved her when she wanted to strange Melissa with chiffon.

Jean Phillipe for the win!

I gotta say, one should never watch HK hungry. I really enjoyed both chef's challenge ideas, although I'm inclined to agree with you that the crab cake + fried chicken would probably have me feeling icky afterwards. All depends on how they execute it, really.

Damn I wish I wasn't so darn hungry right now...

You are so right! I never watch HK without fixing dinner first. I usually eat while I am watching it. And I just finished lunch. Poor you! I hope you get to eat soon!
