I think it’s even trickier resisting those impulse purchases now that shopping online is so easy. We don’t even have to bother to get in our cars and drive somewhere in order to toss our money away. We don’t even have to get dressed!
D slept at my feet for most of last night, and there is not enough room for both of us when he does this, so my legs were all cramped and today my knees are hurting. The weird weather (it’s supposed to be sunny, but there have been thunderstormy clouds all morning) isn’t helping. As a result I am exhausted and sore today.

I am on a death-to-sugar kick. So far it seems to be working fairly well. Watch out, refined carbs. You’re next! I have got to get some of this weight off of me. I feel horrible, all the time. I hope that I can lose 5 - 8 pounds within the next couple of weeks (including a couple of pounds or real weight loss + some initial water weight loss). That’ll be enough of a kick start to keep me going and enough to make me feel a little tiny bit better. Then it will hurt less to walk, so I’ll walk more, so I’ll lose more and be stronger and more toned etc., etc., etc..
Gardening - My lettuce is coming along, but it wants some sunshine. I have almost enough that if I picked every head I could make a small salad. If it keeps growing at this rate, I should have a head ready to harvest in a year or so. ;)
My lisianthus is blooming like crazy, and my petunias and salvia are starting to bloom. The snapdragons are also blooming, but not as much as last year. I think the cold, damp weather has played a part in that. I discovered the clay pot my coleus is in is broken at the bottom. Like, the whole bottom of it just detached from the rest of the pot. I’m leaving it in place for now and keeping an eye on it, but I think I really should probably just toss it.
Reality TV - Oh, VH-1, you never cease to amaze me! Surfing around the net I stumbled across mention of something called Charm School. Well, of course I had to check that out, so I watched about 3/4 of last week’s episode. Hahahaha it even has a wikipedia entry! Mo’Nique is the hostess/school misstress, whatever. In Sunday’s episode they went on a campout and one of the girls had a meltdown over a can opener. Then the guy who played Earl on Joe Schmo made them do an obstacle course in teams. The girl who was eliminated was obviously stoned out of her mind most of the time. But it’s the “pledge pins” and the school girl uniforms they have to wear for elimination that really make the show so ... so ... It’s ... I can’t even ... Gah! You just sort of have to see it. It’s like if you took ANTM only made it much more low budget and skanky and gave it some VH-1 flavor and no shame at all and then put it on TV. I’m hooked. This may be my biggest guilty pleasure since Paradise Hotel.
