JOY!!!
Boy, did that elimination make my night!!!
Chile continues to be gorgeous and, as
tradesland explained, quite varied in its geography and climate.
Fish whisperer. Heee! The fish task was wonderful fun. I especially liked that there were painted fish on the bottom of the tank that made it look like there were more fish than there really were. But still, 80 fish, especially that big, is a lot of fish. It appeared that they could only take about 4 at a time to the holding tank, so that's 20 trips. Even if that's wrong, there had to be about 10 - 15 trips. As tired as the are from the altitude of last leg, that must have been pretty trying. Does anyone know what kind of fish those were?
David and Mary - you're afraid of water?! You're afraid of fish? Mary, you have been on the race before and know you're going to have to get in water at some point. And you didn't take swimming lessons?! Surely Rosie could have hooked you up with some? At any rate, good riddance. I will not miss your shrieking, shrewish, self-entitled, hypocritical nonsense one bit. You seem to have thought that because you are poor people from Kentucky you were entitled to have everyone stop racing and suck their thumbs so you could win. That's an insult to all the disadvantaged people from Kentucky who actually work to make life better for themselves and their kids. You're just like that awful, horrible Rupert, and you make me sick. Good bye and stay gone. And Dave, you deserve better. Edited, because I forgot to comment on your saying, Mary, that you are not an adventure person?! And you took a slot on The Amazing Race twice that could have gone to someone who loves adventure?!!? ZOMG I Hate You So Much!!!
Charla and Mirna -- you are annoying, but also surreal and hilarious.
Rob and Amber - Nope, the other teams are not obsessing over you. They are focused on the race. Neither is the rest of America. Unfortunately, Rob, your mommy taught you to obsess over yourself. You bore me. You're physically fit and you've had a lot of good luck, and occasionally you show some smarts. And ... I don't know why I'm talking about you.
Dustin and Kandice - excellent recovery. I absolutely hate it when a slip up like that gets a team eliminated, and you were doing so well other than finding the rafts before the clue box. Good job on using logic to figure out what you missed. Don't screw up again, ladies. I like you too much.
Oswald and Danny - what happened to you this leg?! I'm worried!!!
Guidos - you are smarter than that. Gah!!!
Teri and Ian - I like you more each week. You are formidable races and real troopers.
Erik and Danielle - you are still growing on me, mainly because everyone seems so bemused and annoyed by your success, and you're attractive and well, you're just growing on me.
Joyce and Uchenna - I almost forgot to say anything about you. Would you please do something memorable next week?
The rafting looked like great fun. I'm not at all surprised no one chose the rock climbing. I think a lot of those folks belong to gyms and a lot of gyms have rock climbing these days. So there's no adventure in it. It's just drudgery. Also, as tired as they had to be at that point, a strenuous climb would have been a very bad idea. The rafting would take something out of you, but probably not as much as the climbing. I did think the thing with the half clues was interesting and I wonder if that will show up in a later leg.
Again, Chile = incredibly gorgeous. I really want to go there someday. I hope they got to drink Chilean wine at the pit stops. The Chilean people seemed to be really good sports about being asked to fern and such.
What the heck was up with the greeter? He was kinda scary.
Following text whited out for big ol' spoilers from the spoiler thread at TWOP: So, apparently the shocking ending next week is that Rob & Amber are eliminated. I actually don't find that terribly shocking. They've been getting two very specific edits this time around. The first is through interviews that all the teams are obsessing over them, and clearly that's not the case in action, except possibly Mirna and Charla. The second edit is more accurate and it explains why they've won the first three legs. Rob is a risk taker. A lot of the time, this works in his favor, but risk-taking without excellent risk management skills can come back to bite you. His love of pulling away from the pack leaves their team vulnerable. I don't sense that Amber shares this trait to the same degree. I read almost all the spoilers about this race, and I now know the consensus from various spoilers on the order everyone comes in. I'll be glad to share it in a comment, whited out of course, if anyone wants it. Or you can go to the TWOP spoilers thread and read it. There's also info on what countries they are going to. I will say this much -- I think who is in the top three and who is supposed to be the winner will cause much frothing among the TWOPies that hate nice looking people, and I find that hysterically funny and plus who the top three is makes me all warm and fuzzy and happy over the ending, mostly. There is one team I'll be sad isn't there, but otherwise -- YAY!!!
