Oscars, American Idol, Amazing Race, HP
I only kind of sort of watched the Oscars. I did see Jennifer Hudson’s acceptance speech and could anything possibly be more endearing?
American Idol
Eh, the only surprise was Alaina still being in it.
The group sing was utterly hilarious. The little punching arm motion made it look like they were cheerleading to a Tears for Fears Song.
Amazing Race
Mirna, Charla and Mary: Please SHUT UP NOW!!!
In shocking news, Romber don’t annoy me quite as much this time around. This is perhaps because most of the rest of the teams can’t be bothered to care about them. I get the feeling the production staff/cameramen keep trying to stir up antagonism towards them with the rest of the teams, and all they get in return is, whatever ... RAAAAAAACE!
Erik and Danielle are sort of growing on me in a way, in that I am beginning to remember who they are, and I don’t hate them.
Joyce and Uchenna are about as meh as a team can be though.
Dustin and Kandice were wonderful this leg. I love them anyway, but I especially love that the pretty girl was the smart one and figured out the roadblock first.
And boy, was that ever a great roadblock.
Mary, besides telling you to shut up, I would also like to remind you that when you shout something at the top of your lungs, other people hearing it is not “eavesdropping.” You may have been smart to write down the names under the pictures, but otherwise you are an idiot. Not only an idiot, but a hypocritical, annoying shrew of an idiot. You better be out next week.
Mirna’s weird melt-down was a thing of beauty. Her ox was truly broken. I’m sure that cabbie was utterly freaked out by the crazy lady shoving her entire bag at him.
The Guidos are fine.
I was okay with Kevin and Drew being out this week. Nothing’s sadder than racers who don’t want to be in the race.
Chile is gorgeous. I love Danny and Oswald more and more each week. I didn't think it was possible, but I do.
On the HP front, I posted a fun little thing I noticed about CoS over in canon-reread, here.
In almost every chapter I’ve read so far there’s at least one paragraph about him watching her. I do think he’d subconsciously completely fallen for her way back then. He seems to derive so much happiness from being around her, even when she’s being so cute and awkward. The foreshadowing and parallels between CoS and HBP are just awesome!
