I'm a day late, but here goes...
1. Which animal in Care of Magical Creatures is your favorite?
CoMC classes make me cringe. I'm not a fan of Hagrid, at all, and I don't find any thing he does or most of the animals interesting or funny. If I'm pressed, I'd have to say the nifflers. They seem to be the only truly useful and interesting animals studied. Or maybe Grubbly-Plank's unicorns. I much prefer Grubbly-Plank as the CoMC teacher.
2. When and how did you stumble across the Harry Potter books? Did you like them straight away or warm up to them?
I participated in a charity variety show for several years. One year quite a while back the title of our show was Harry Potter and the ??? something. I can't remember now. After the show was finished and I had some reading time again, the first book I got was PS/SS. I read it straight through, got in my car and went to the book store to buy CoS and PoA. GoF came out a week or two later, I think, and I bought it that next weekend. I have read every book straight through, several times. Apparently, I was rather taken by them.
I still love them all, though GoF is my least favorite, and HBP my current favorite.
3. Is there an inconsistency in the books that really bothers you?
No.
There are characters and situations I don't understand yet, but hope I will understand them better after Book 7. There are characters who went from at least somewhat good to intolerably horrible, and I'm bothered by them. One of them did so progressively and very realistically, in a manner similar to persons I've known in real life, so I don't consider her characterization inconsistent. The other has me baffled, but I really do hope JKR will clear that up in the last book. And neither of them are Snape. *g*
4. Which would you rather like to visit: Grimmauld Place or Godric's Hollow?
They both hold a lot of ghosts, don't they?
I guess it depends. As a reader I'm more interested in Godric's Hollow, because we haven't really seen it yet. If I were suddenly physically inserted into the HPverse, though … You know what? Still Godric's Hollow. It sounds like visiting there would be more of an adventure. Also, I have a feeling the love that was and still is there is enough to overcome any lingering dark magic that might be there.
The one exception - if a bunch of y'all who are into scary stuff wanted to spend a night in 12 Grimmauld Place telling ghost stories, eating popcorn and brownies, and making thumping noises and scaring each other half to death, I'd be up for it.
5. Draco's fate is up in the air by the end of Book 6. What do you think Lucius's reaction will be to Draco's actions? How about Narcissa's?
Lucius: I think he'll be very angry and at least somewhat worried for his son. I don't think we'll see a reunion between them.
Narcissa: She'll be terrified.
I think we'll see a good bit of both Malfoys in book 7, but I have no idea what they'll be doing.
