i've been to raffles medical a couple of times now, and each visit i leave with this impression that everything is so programmed - the receptionist, the doctor, everyone. (even dr wat's-his-name-from-hk - the one with a weird name that slipped my mind much, like woffles wu's - though not happy and concerned, was still oddly pre-programmed to fit the general feel of the medical group).

everyone is happy and cheerful and concerned about you. not to mention exceedingly polite. thank goodness there's the more real facade that surfaces from time to time (like today's receptionist chatting to her friend about king kong and how the front bit was too slow and things only got better after king kong appears after an hour).

today's doctor was especially strange. maybe i've been watching/hearing too much of sleeping beauty, but this doctor (let's call him dr H) absolutely reminded me of one of the fairy god-aunties. very salah. not salah in the akc way, but just damn wrong. maybe it was his accent. maybe it was how he was fussing over me. maybe i was just very sick. but whatever the case, it din feel real. a short consultation, one that made me feel odd at ease (as one would in a perfect world, no?).

or perhaps i am just a rude singaporean unable to come to terms with supposed good service.
