[update] like we're all navigating blind;

I think the typhoon's finally hit Manila. I was poking around lyrics for the title of this post when I saw a flash of lightning reflected on my laptop screen. The rain's gained momentum outside as well. The strength of the rainfall fluctuates, but if this keeps up, I'm dressing warm and donning boots tomorrow when I head off to work. Tonight though, I'll pray that the rainfall will be steady (I like sleeping in this kind of weather) but not overly strong. I think the experience two years ago with Ondoy has taken the edge off of the fun I'd have over the monsoon season. :(

It's my last night of an unexpected extended leave from work. I was supposed to be back today, but as mentioned in a previous post, the schedules for our individual days off have been rearranged again and mine now falls on Monday and Tuesday. On one hand, yay for getting to stay home before diving back into the work week, on the other ugh, because there goes my hopes of retaining my weekends. I swear, this happens every time. The next time I get told I'm getting Friday/Saturday/Sunday off, I'm going to take it with a grain of salt.

I think this weekend is the most fun I've had in a long, long time. Granted, Kang and Zyn didn't stay as long as originally planned, we stayed up as late as we could watching stuff, had pizza for brunch the next day (we had leftovers, lots -- the boys finished it off tho) and then crammed in a couple more things to watch before Rika and I were left to our own devices. Lots of lulzy moments, a lot of teasing mostly me as the primary target I won't even try to expound on that, it tends to be that way when these three are involved, more lulzing and accompanying flail.

Rika stayed until Monday, and then I went with her to the McDonald's in El Pueblo to have lunch with Kang and Zyn (working girls, lol) before skipping off to Megamall to try out the Haagen Dazs Ice Cream Buffet (this one deserves a separate post). We slept a lot, haha. The heat in the afternoons tended to be insane, but we also got to watch stuff like Tiger and Bunny and I got her to look at two PMK eps (the first one and Poetry JUST BECAUSE). I nabbed several things off her external drive as well (Madoka Magica, FMA: Brotherhood, etc). I gave her copies of Tokyo Ghost Trip and a few other things.

Those of you who have me on your Plurklists already know that my account was hijacked on a number of occasions (Rika, obv). After getting over the initial (and general) mortification of it all, I've managed to browse through the posts again and have decided they're not that bad really what am I saying. I guess it all boils down to the fact that I suck at handling embarrassment, esp when it concerns specific issues (I'm not going to elaborate, I'm already pretty sure that Kang and Zyn will do that for me in the comments). At least I got back at Rika by pinning her down while Porkchop assaulted her? :3 Hehehehehe...

I think what makes me happiest about this weekend though, is that I haven't felt this rested in awhile. I've had trips out of town these last few months and have enjoyed chilling with friends at the mall or having lunch and dinners as treats for myself, but nothing beats just kicking back at home and holing up in one's bedroom unless mealtimes call.

And while I know I'm going back to the grind tomorrow and will obviously be flailing (and not in a happy way) over my backlogged workload, I'm glad I took the extended weekend off (even if the one extra day wasn't in the original plan). I've been feeling worn and to be honest, as much as my schedule has more or less levelled off, I still don't feel recovered from the crazy at the beginning of the year. So yes, getting to just kick back and hang with friends and laze around the house and idk, just chill -- it's something I haven't been able to do in awhile and I have missed it a whole lot.

Sp when Rika brought up doing this again my answer is simple: hell, yes, please. The venue will be at her place next and there's no set date, but I can already imagine just how crazy-awesome that will be (Zyn, I will be praying VERY HARD that you can make this one).

Leaving off here for now. We're having dinner in a bit and I'm doing one last look through Mom's Farmville accounts to make sure that all her crops and flowers have been harvested.

(Guys, guys, guys -- for those of you who have Mama on your FV friendslists, help out with her withered crops? Just... IDK, bring them back to life using the unwither option. She'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks muchly~)

On a final note, I sincerely hope the power doesn't go out. The rain's getting pretty strong and so is the wind. I have a Tiger & Bunny marathon with the brothers and I don't want to postpone it for another night.

the heir apparent, this is my life, petspetspets, kiribean get you good, friends, zyn kasalanan mo 'to!, zyrikang get!, shenanigans is serious business, what is this shenaniganry, my friends are awesomesauce, shiny is shiny is shiny, fandom: tiger & bunny
