You shouldn't be surprised that only a few of your friends knew Teddy Ruxpin. He really was very, very EXPENSIVE way back then. I think Teddy Ruxpin's the most expensive toy your dad and i bought for you and your brothers barring the Playstation units of course.
And those balikbayan boxes really got their full use as your 'treebox'. :D You and Nate were able to entertain yourselves for hours at a time using just your imagination. Perhaps, that's what Neal missed out. So i guess, your reliving your childhood memories for him on the dinner table will make him share those times with you and Nate. As you can see, he really enjoys hearing your stories. :)
What i saw was this brochure of Captain Power, not the toy itself although i think it is still around somewhere considering all the stuff we hoard.
Funny, noh? What good memories we relate to in the stuff we keep?
I don't think it ever came up because I got him while I was still living in the US and I didn't love him that much. I liked my jawa stuffed animal more because, well, Star Wars.
Ruxpin was too close to a doll to me and I was scared of dolls growing up (to the point that I cried whenever anybody gave me one and made my mum keep it in a cabinet far away. But I definitely remember him. D:
D: But Ruxpin's a BEAR. Granted, talking animatronic "Let's be friends" creepy sometimes, but that never bothered me... :x *sheepish* Then again I had tons of dolls and only learned fear of them later on.
I KNOW. ISN'T IT SAD? D: Pretty white pony with rainbow-colored hair.
