Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow

The Weather Service said we were supposed to get an inch or two of snow after Midnight on Friday. Instead it started snowing at about 6:30 PM and we got about five or six inches by midnight. Luckily I was having dinner with a friend who only lives about five blocks away; but even five blocks becomes a trudge. Also, wet and heavy snow? No fun to shovel. None at all.

The main streets have been plowed by little, four-block-long side street has yet to be touched. If you have to drive, you stay in the snow ruts created by those that braved it before you. I have stocked the house with books and have a chicken stuffed with lemon and tarragon roasting in the oven. Along with some potatoes and turnips.

So last night, one or two inches turns into six. Tonight we're supposed to get seven to eleven inches. You have to worry, because as the Weather Service says:

THIS WILL BE A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION. IF YOU LEAVE THE SAFETY
OF INDOORS...YOU ARE PUTTING YOUR LIFE AT RISK. TRAVEL IS NOT
RECOMMENDED TONIGHT AND SUNDAY.*
