This is rather encouraging
Matthew Stover is going to be writing Luke Skywalker and the Shadows of Mindor, a novel set shortly after ROTJ. I'm looking forward to Stover's take on the classic characters and I'm hoping this means we'll get more stories set during the classic trilogy that actually focus on the Big Three & Vader, etc. We have to wait a year, but here's hoping its worth it.
