Today's initial plan went to heck. Nasty weather forecast - potential flooding in Rockaway Beach and possible nasty rain and wind along the way - scotched plans for the coastal train ride. Instead, we decided to head back to Vernonia, OR. It's only an hour away, instead of Going Coastal's 2-hours each way. The weather cooperated admirably. It did rain, quite a bit, but it tapered off so after the initial rainbow-producing sprinkles, we enjoyed dry and mildly sunny walkies around Vernonia Lake. Downtown's coffee and antique break included cool mural sightings, new since our last visit in April 2021. 'Twas a delightful day! Pics:
