Cooking

I quite like cooking, especially when inspired and/or with a good sous-chef (or serving as such myself). It feels so good to get into the zone and not worry/think about anything else, all while creating good, healthy (often, not always) foodstuffs for me and those I care about. Last night I felt inspired because we had folks over for a backyard dinner get together with good firepit time. (An aside thank you to the weather gods who blessed us with fine weather. Eventually the rain began pounding down, but that happened just as the evening wound down anyway.)

I knew I'd bake salmon, since I've finally figured that out. I asked them to bring veggies (stir-fried leeks, carrots, and boy choy). Then I tried to figure out what starch to include w/dinner. Rather than nuked potatoes or steamed rice, I opted to make Pasta Puttanesca, a long-time favorite I'd not made in years. We ended up adding stir-fried baby broccoli, which worked quite nicely. I enjoyed leftovers for lunch today. Mmmm...

Oh, for dessert, we made s'mores! This entry was originally posted at https://mlerules.dreamwidth.org/1165361.html. You can comment here (or there using OpenID.)
