What do...
Iggy Pop
Steve Bucemi
Hunter S. Thompson
Kate Pierson
and
Michael Stype all have in common?
They were all guest stars on "The Adventures of Pete and Pete" on Nickelodeon circa 1993-1996 which I got on DVD from Target.com. Save for an encoding error on one episode its a nice collection of 8 1st season episodes, 4 special episodes, and two of the orignal 60-second shorts. Season two comes out Nov 1 and I WILL be ordering it!
I've been writing this entry for the last three days now, but I have been reluctant to post it because I thought it was too short. Lets add some meaningless information. I didn't do anything productive at all this past week, I really need to get off my ass and get at the job search hardcore otherwise Im going to get stuck in a dead end job again. I have been posting my resume though Monster, in fact I've submitted to over 12 companies in the last two weeks but I haven't had any bites yet. It makes me feel pretty worthless when I see that people I went to school with who have sucessful jobs, or lives. My aunt mentioned to me that I should get a retail/sales job, but I didnt go to college work those kinda crappy jobs. If I could do college over again though Id probably go with History Education so I could teach or a Comp-Sci major.
I should do something crazy like sell my truck and then go bum around Europe for a couple months. Alas, Im too lazy or too much of a wuss to do something like that though I have done my share of drastic things that has affected (effected?) my life so far. Man I wish I could get my sleeping schedule back on track, I keep staying up till 4-5am then sleeping in till well after 12 during the day.
What I did get accomplished this week was installing a DVD Burner and a capture card, I plan on burning some old VHS stuff to DVD including home movies. The first test burn I did worked but the video was all jumpy, I have to figure out how to fix that, also I need to stop at Radio Shack and get some additional A/V cables to I dont have to switch back and forth between the ones I use for the regular TV. Any ideas out there why my video was all jumpy/jittery? I played my encoded files and it was them, not the acutal burn because the pre-encoded files I burned earlier turned out OK. Maybe Im trying to encode to high a resolution for my comp to handle? It may just be the video importer, once I get the A/V cables Im trying the windows one instead of Nerovision. I think I'll go off and do something... its 3:17 and iron chef is on!
