I'm guessing most of the people in the States noticed the huge area of green going over the East coast on the Weather Channel this weekend. That equaled off to a very poor time for a yard sale and a crappy Octoberfest. It was sad to see how cars were actually able to drive through the street when we usually have to close the main road due to all of the people walking around for Octoberfest. Oh well. We needed the rain more than we needed a festival. There hadn't been rain in this area for at least two weeks, and with all of the out-of-towners, the chances of a fire starting was even greater. And being so close to the mountains with all of the dry leaves on the ground.... Well, it definitely wouldn't have been something I would have wanted to risk, so I'm actually glad it rained this weekend.
Since we knew it was going to rain, I went out and bought a small umbrella from the Dollar Tree to use. We didn't have a yard sale on Friday due to the rain. Saturday was spent walking around town looking at the tents full of crafts and such since we didn't even bother with setting up a yard sale due to the steady rain all day. But we did end up selling some stuff on Sunday because the rain let up. It also made me realize how impatient my younger cousin is. I lost track of how many times he asked me to watch his stand because he wanted to go somewhere. He was only able to sit still for fifteen minutes before he'd get restless again, except for the time where he starting playing a Yu-Gi-Oh card game with a customer. lol. Grandma just kept shaking her head and rolling her eyes as he'd walk/skip/run away.
Other than that I've been noticing a few changes lately. I'll go into more details in a later post this week but one of the changes is my eye color. I've always noticed my predominant eye color as a blue-grey mixture, but that one seems to have disappeared for the past three weeks. The blue-green mixture I would sometimes get is now always apparent, only there is more green noticeable now. Oh, except for when I first wake up in the mornings. My eyes are usually a scary looking light grey color for a little while when I first wake up. It was startling when I first noticed it (right before I noticed my eyes change to the blue-green color) because it doesn't look at all natural. Reminded me of some sort of vampire eyes. :P The funny thing was that I had no clue where they came from. Everyone I know in this family has either blue or brown eyes, expect I've noticed Daniel's eyes (the cousin I was just talking about) are brown, blue and green now. Spending Friday with my grandmother brought on the subject of eye color and how her family only have all blue or all brown eyes. Most of Pappy's family have all brown eyes, but he did tell me his mother had blue-green eyes. And since I look just like his only sister, I guess it is obvious now how I take after his side of the family since my body frame is the only resemblance to my grandmother.
Speaking of my grandfather... Thursday night was fun because it was amusing watching Pappy drive his latest car at night for the first time. He had wanted to turn on his high beams but he didn't know how to do it. This resulted in him accidentally turning on the water to where he couldn't see out of the windshield ("Oh sh!t" was his reaction), so he had to put on the windshield wipers. I laughed while grandma told him to watch what he was doing, then he hit the switch for the blinker light and turned on the water again. He finally was able to turn on the high beams after this, but he couldn't get the windshield wipers to turn off because they were "haunted" (according to him). We all had a good laugh that night. Earlier on in the day, Grandma had been joking about all of the women he knows around town because he is always being stopped to talk to one of them. Pappy's response? "I know women everywhere I go." Wish my camera was working so that I could have taken a picture as my Grandmother's eyebrows shot up. Poor Pappy is always sticking his foot in his mouth. Then it was funny listening to them argue about how old they were when they had met and how old they were when they had married, neither of which they agreed on.
Snagged from many journals:
You have a total of 33 friends
You requested to guess 20 entries.
1 was skipped due to invalid content (surprising?).
You made 19 guesses.
You got 18 correct.
Doing the math for you, that means you got 94% correct
And because I go crazy with quizzes...
You have a total of 33 friends
You requested to guess 33 entries.
2 were skipped due to invalid content (surprising?).
You made 31 guesses.
You got 31 correct.
Doing the math for you, that means you got 100% correct
Hmm. I think the one I got wrong from the last test was also in this one, only I got it right this time. Yay!
Anyway, now I am going to finish catching up with your journals. Hope everyone had a good weekend!
