Tired, but happy

This weekend, I tidied. A lot. The upstairs of my house is cleaner than it has been in six months, I feel, and much, much nicer.

Rodger took over almost all of our usually-shared Saturday with Ada, so that even when I was in the house with them, he seemed to be quietly in charge.

It's amazing how little time it actually takes to clean house, when one hasn't worked late the night before, doesn't have a tonne of paid work to do during the weekend, and hasn't got to deal with another person who wants a play partner all the time.

I even squeezed in taking my daughter, niece, and nephew out for a play in the park and lunch with my grandfather (again, thanks to Rodger, who generally makes sure we lunch with Grandad about once a month).

Then I finished the weekend up with a music afternoon, with friends playing whatever instruments they wished in our dining room, with mulled wine. We had a banjo, two or three guitars, harmonicas, an accordion, and various drums and so on. Ada was most interested, and ended up joining in, then playing for about half an hour after dinner on my recorder. (She plays a single note, usually, but has the timing of the notes perfect for the Sesame Street ABC song.)
