I had my 3 LD's off this past weekend and did absolutely NOTHING. Just hung around and slept and lounged. Eventful, huh?
The biggest obstacle was trying to cheer my grandmother up. She had to have her left leg amputated below the knee due to complications from diabetes and she is having a hard time dealing with it (and rightfully so). She had the surgery this past Wednesday and was in the hospital through this morning. Then she heads to a physical rehab place for about a month. I'm sooo worried about her since she lives alone. Her apartment is suited for a wheelchair/motorized cart, but she doesn't have a lot of strength built up and only having one leg is going to make her life difficult. I was hoping that we could convince her to move into an assisted living community, but she wouldn't hear any of it. We'll see if her doctors and physical therapist think that would be a good idea or not.
My sister officially made it back to Iraq Friday morning at midnight. She said that she unpacked, took a shower, and was in bed by 2:30 a.m. and slept until Friday night at 5 p.m.!!!!!! That's a lot of sleep. She also had to change rooms which she was nervous about, but it seems like it will be okay. Her roommate works an opposite shift of my sister's, therefore, it will kind of feel like having her own room. Hope it works out for her.
