I am so impressed by Ben's morning microfiction that I am going to jump on board with him. It seems like a much more productive way to start off the day. I'm not sure what I will do if I have coherent enough dreams to merit chronicling them, since I generally need to do it as soon as I wake up for it to be effective. Maybe I will combine the posts into one super-post, and that way I can just smush dreams that are usually to incomplete onto the end of a post worth posting. Which will probably include the quality of my dreams overall.
I have been awake for a while, but let's smush these together anyway:
MICROFICTION
He'd already saved the princess from the dragon, the black knight, and the evil wizard. Now he had to save her from a Thai food craving, and it was proving to be a worthy challenge. Gridlocked on Main Street, his trusty steed inched down the road at a rate reminiscent of his last root canal. He could hear her teeth grating from here as she sat helpless in her royal maternity sweats, pink frilly dresses and nightly balls a present impossibility.
As much as it hurt him to part from his loyal mount, the traffic soon became too much to bear. Abandoning the '92 Cavalier, he barrelled down the sidewalk, the ends of his jacket flaring out behind him as he dashed. A hand went to his breast pocket, where her favor still lay after all these years.
After all, he thought to himself, what kind of happily ever after doesn't carry new adventures with every passing year?
DREAMS
Nothing plot-worthy to report. A while back I was having more stress dreams about trying to get to Penny's house and failing because of crazy highways. ALSO I am fairly sure that those are contiguous with the whole... alternate stress universe my dreams have presented, regarding Wayfinder and schools, where all the buildings are mishmashes of other buildings they shouldn't be and New Paltz is entirely different.
At some point I should take the time to map out, from memory:
-AlternaSchool Blue Prints
-Alterna-Route-32-and-Main-Street
-Alterna Penny's House (Which is NOTHING like her actual house. Frankly, it's closer to Wiley's in terms of floor plan and a waspy relatives' in terms of decorum.)
Actually, the floor plans of dream places are pretty easy for me to remember... even long after the dream's plot and visuals fade. I should draw most of them up, I think.
