come downstairs and say hello....

this morning i cleaned my desk.  it needed it.  i also rearranged a handful of items, including my CD rack.  it will be tough remembering that it's now to the immediate right instead of behind my left shoulder.  crazy times, i know.  welcome to my tuesday.  now i can't get the cleaner smell off my hands.  oddly enough,  a few years ago that same feeling caused me to write my only half-decent poem.

last night i looked at a few houses with amy, which was fun.  then i hopped off to my bass lesson, which went well.  we started working on a zombies song, "she's not there."  if you haven't heard it, go check it out.  as john kept saying last night:  "wow, this is pretty trippy for 1964."  indeed.  the bass line is not so much complex as it seems to jump around a lot and my fingers tend to trip over themselves.  but it's good practice.  i'm also trying to write out, in proper notation, the bass line to "sunshine of your love."  it's a relatively simple song to play, but writing it out will give me practice in reading music and applying it to the bass.  reading it is the easy part:  bass clef also applied to my tromboning high school days.  it's just of matter of figuring out where that D should be play on the fretboard.

i'm off to half price books in a few moments where i will likely buy more stuff i don't need.
