Spam Post Go Go Go!

Oct 08, 2010 22:26

I promised a music spam post. Well, now I'm delivering. But first, a life update. No more problems in our cottage related to smoke alarms and gas and blackouts, so I think we're safe. Only three more weeks to go, so I hope we're safe. Haircut continues to be awesome and light and awesome and way easier to brush. Lucky my hair isn't curly or I would probably commit suicide. Also, writing inspiration is on the blink. Probably a good thing considering I have an in-class exam and an essay next week, then a week off then two exams.

Now, these music links will all go to Youtube, just so you know before you click and suddenly your internet is all eaten up like whoa! Okay, onto the spam! Lyrics samples where I can remember them :)

Breathe by Angels and Airwaves - love this song to death. To. Death. Lyrics: I've got a lot to say, if you will let me/ It's always hard, when you're around me/ But here right now, there's interest in your eyes/ So hear me out, and hear this the first time/ I love you

Pieces by Red - and this one too. Just be warned, the lyrics don't start until about 1:30 in to the song. It's worth it though. So very worth it.

Defying Gravity by Idina Menzel and Kristin Chenoweth (from the musical Wicked). Showtunes are totally fun. You know they are. I have never seen the musical, but I quite enjoy this song anyway. Lyrics: Too long Iv'e been afraid of losing love I guess I've lost/ Well if that's love it comes at much too high a cost

Terrified by Story of the Year - I guess my brother is actually good for more than just buying awesome X-box games, because it was he who introduced me to this song. Lyrics: Are you still alive?/ Are you scared inside?/ Providence is blind when you're terrified.

I Hope You Dance by Lee Ann Womack - I am open to country music when it's not being overtly honky-tonk twang-twang in my face with the overdone accents. And this song is so beautiful and lovely and sweet and inspiring. It's probably my all time favourite country song, no joke.

Hymn to Her by the Pretenders - This is definitely my favourite Pretenders song. It's also one of their most underrated. Lyrics: I've been your lover from the womb to the tomb/ I dress as your daughter when the moon becomes round/ You'll be my mother when everything's gone

I'd Lie by Taylor Swift - Again, another underrated song. I think it's really cute and sweet and lovely. I can listen to most of her songs and toelrate if not enjoy them, but I do like this one quite a lot.

Into the Dark by the Juliana Theory - I have no idea where I first heard this song. I think a friend might have given it to me. But oh god, I adore the lyrics: In your eyes I see a darkness that torments you/ And in your head where it dwells/ I'd give you my hand if you'd reach out and grab it/ Let's walk away from this hell

Home by Daughtry - So this is totally my homesickness song. Lyrics: I'm going to the place where love/ And feeling good don't ever cost a thing/ And the pain you feel's a different kind of pain

Beautiful Lie by Amy Studt - Again, one of those ones I think I was given randomly by a friend. I ignored it for a while, then actually listened to it, and now I really do enjoy it. Lyrics: You don't have nothing but pride to keep you alive yeah, alive oh yeah/ I can say it will be fine/ It's a beautiful lie so please/ Don't leave it all up to me

Evil Angel by Breaking Benjamin - Not quite my usual cup of tea; a bit heavy for me, but my brother introduced me (again) and it's grown on me. Quite alot, actually; it's one of my top twenty most played songs. Even with the random bits of screamo at the end of the chorus.

Simon by Lifehouse - I love Lifehouse. They're one of my favourite groups. And this is one of my favourite songs by them, found randomly on Youtube one day while browsing. Actually, this is my favourite song by them. And it's not even a single. Lyrics: Catch your breath/ Hit the wall/ Scream out loud/ As you start to crawl/ Back in your cage/ The only place/ Where they will leave you alone

It's All Coming Back To Me Now by Meatloaf - Because no song spam would be complete without him :) Nothing more needs to be said here, I feel, except this song is so bittersweet and I love it.

Making Love Out Of Nothing At All by Air Supply - If you don't know who this group is, look them up now. It is vital to your continued existence, it really is. Because I'll have to do horrible things to you if you don't know who they are. Alternatively, I need to fill my Australian artists quota.

Stupid Boy by Keith Urban - nothing to see here. Just an amazing slow song by a successful Aussie export to the USA and it's booming country industry. Ladedahdedah. Lyrics: Well she was precious/ Like a flower she grew wild/ Wild but innocent/ A perfect prayer in a desperate hour/ She was everything beautiful and different

Your Guardian Angel by Red Jumpsuit Apparatus - This song makes me want to cry in the best possible way. Lyrics: I will never let you fall/ I'll stand up with you forever/ I'll be there for you through it all/ Even if saving you sends me to heaven

100 Years by Five For Fighting - Piano piano piano. I am a sucker for piano. I also believe violins have the magical power of making 'okay' songs 'awesome'. Also, this is a beautiful song. But you already knew that, right?

Lux Aeterna (Full Orchestra) composed by Clint Marsell - AMAZING INSTRUMENTAL. That is all.

Broken by Lifehouse - Remember when I told you I love this group? Yeah. I do. I love this song too. Love all round, really. Lyrics: The broken clock is a comfort/ It helps me sleep tonight/ Maybe it can stop tomorrow/ From stealing all my time/ I am here still waiting/ Though i still have my doubts/ I am damaged at best/ Like you've already figured out

Us by Regina Spektor - Some of her songs I do not like very much. Some I do. This is one I happen to love. My bias for piano is showing again, I think.

Well, there we go. Twenty Youtube links, twenty songs I love. However long it took me to create this; about an hour and a half, I think. And however long it takes to read this, if anyone does. Hopefully someone enjoys, and if you have song recommendations, feel free to make them. I'm always on the lookout for new music.
