You know you're a nerd when you have a variety of stacks of wedding invitation components that are weighted down with:
- The Internal Combustion Engine in Theory and Practice, vols 1 & 2
- Differential Equations
- Introduction to Applied Mathematics
- Introduction to Flight
- the math CRC, and
- Fundamentals of Fluid Mechanics
I have really been enjoying my week off work. I've probably been sleeping more than I should, but I think this is my last chance to sleep all I want until next Christmas! This morning I got a panicky call from the help desk at work. There was a major problem with one of the servers, and I was the only one answering my phone at 8:30 in the morning. It was a problem that I could do nothing about, but after a few panicky calls on my part, I found someone to let me off the hook. The problem at work is that talking to someone about an existing problem seems to make the problem your responsibility. I have been responsible for dealing with far too many problems like this that are entirely out of my league!
We have been in full-on house shopping mode since Thanksgiving. It's amazing how much time and energy the process takes. And how many trees have to die so that people can buy houses. :)
