Or something resembling alive. I said a week and a half ago that if I could make it to noon on Sunday (last) without having a nervous breakdown, then I'm Super Woman. Apparently, though I made it through the bulk of the move, daylight savings time, and having to be to work at 4:30 am on Sunday (you know, 3:30 to the body's clock because my body doesn't give a damn about daylight savings), Linksys is trying to give me that nervous breakdown, anyway.
Internet has been successfully installed at the apartment. The modem is hooked up to the wireless router, just like in the last place. The girls and my laptop can get online with no issues. I wanted to get my desktop machine set up for wireless, since I was wired into the network at the last house. I figured, the access point was Linksys, the girls all had Linksys adapters, a Linksys adapter for my machine should be the way to go. Right? Apparently not. I have tried (and I'm not kidding) at least seven different things to get the adapter working. It can identify our wireless network among the others in the neighborhood, it can attempt to connect to it, but it cannot complete "acquiring network address." This is, to say the least, annoying.
Meanwhile, I have managed to get all the furniture for my bedroom built and in place. I has a desk and a bed and stuffs. It is good. The next step is to build the stuff for the workroom, but not today. Today, I overslept, missed my first class, went to my second to take the test, came home, futzed with the wireless thing, attempted to do some of my homework for my sewing class, and should be running out the door about now to get to my sewing class. Tomorrow, fortunately, is a good day to get stuff done. I work until 10:45 (am)and can get another run or two to the house taken care of before Japanese class. Somewhere in there, sleep should happen. I haven't been doing nearly enough of that.
