in regards to short stories, i suggest: zz packer's drinking coffee elsewhere, jen michalski's close encounters, and if you're okay with being depressed, selah saterstrom's the meat and spirit plan.
I'm okay with just about anything - although because I am a huge dork, stuff relating to Florida and/or the beach would be nice as part of the whole moving experience.

Ooooh. I don't know if I've read anything about Florida or the beach. If I think of anything, I'll let you know. Have you read The Shipping News? It's a by Annie Proulx (though it's got so much sound play/lyricaltangoing/strange pacing).
I can't get Edward Palvic's prose poems out of my head, but you didn't ask for poetry (understandably). What about graphic novels? I just reread Cruddy and found it interesting.
Also: where have you been? Are you playing undercoverlover again?

SCUSE ME. WHEN WERE YOU GOING TO TELL ME THIS. GLAREFLAREGLARE.
See: I like Proulx's short stories more, but they're super depressing. Close Range is amazing, but it makes me want to turn the lights off and listen to Johnny Cash or Bright Eyes or something.

I will better answer these questions in person, as I will be in Roanoke this coming week.
And I haven't read anything by Proulx, so that's a good suggestion.
