Kayono The Plagiarist

May 28, 2010 21:20

Don’t ever read or buy Kayono’s mangas. NEVER. EVER. I really felt that we need to boycott this little bitch to teach her a lesson. I was never fond of Kayono’s work: stupid and lame storylines, thin-as-stick super-big-eyed girl with melon-sized-breast, and so predictable endings. But I never hate her, until I knew the fact that she is a plagiarist.

Yep, that’s right. Plagiarist.

Takashima Kazusa was one of my favourite mangaka, esp for her WILD ROCK. I’m not biased if I said that her artwork and storyline are far more greater than Kayono.

Guess what? That stupid Kayono plagiarised Takashima sensei’s artwork. She used a ton of references from Takashima sensei’s panels. Kayono obviously took some of idea from wild Rock and molded into her shitty work in Shinobi No Onna.

Here the pictures for comparison:

It’s not the first time that Kayono take references. On her manga covers, she took also fashion/models photos and directly copied from them. The famous one was from a well-known Calvin Klein’s advertisement poster :

You know the worst part? Kayono won the case at the court when Takashima sensei sued her. Apparently, she won because of her mother connections. Kayono’s mom, Ide Chikae, was a famous shoujo mangaka. She pulled some strings to help her bitchy daughter.

Apparently, Ida Chikae was there during the court trail, and she did her best to slander Kayashima sensei’s name, her manga works, as well as the entire BL genre in general. When Kayono was faced with questions regarding the plagiarism by fans, Chikae replied,” Kayono doesn’t read BL, so she can’t copy what she didn’t read.”

And she won because of her mom and the “It’s yaoi” factor!! Can you believe that?? Wild Rock was published first! And because of it’s genre, yaoi, means it didn’t deserve justice just because the plagiarist using them for shoujo??

After the case ended, she went to Kayashima’s publishers and pressured them to stop releasing her works, in order to end her career. Kayashima sensei probably knew the case results beforehand, and submitted her rough drafts of Last Client before they imposed the two year ban on her.

The rest of her unfinished works were said to be left unfinished or will be abandonen until she could continue them. It was despicable, but that’s how it is. It seems Kayashima sensei has moved on from this ordeal though, and the best way is simply to support her more than ever, and to let her know her works are loved worldwide.

She has the advantage of having her works released in America, and on September 2008, she was invited as a guest to a con in Germany. In truth, although the case was resolved horribly, the evidence is right there in the website, detailing the comparison between each copied panel. Kayono is simply no match to Takashima sensei’s caliber!

Kayono, life is wonderful when your mom is a famous and powerful bitch, ne? Even though you’re the one at fault, you could win. DAMN YOU TO HELL. Gimme back Kayashima Kazuza-sensei!! We didn’t need a plagiarist like you!
