My Promise: Chapter 1
“My lady, are you feeling okay?” Mizumi was interrupted from her thoughts by her butler Sho. “Ah yes I am. I was just thinking about the dream I have been having as of recently. “ She was sitting in the garden by the roses having her afternoon looking at the papers for a new project that dealt with line of women beauty products to protect the skin. As she was resting, she got lost in her own thoughts.
Mizumi was the daughter of the company president that owned the beauty line called Shiseido. She has entered her Father’s company in attempt to learn and hopefully inherit the company one day along with her older brother. Sho was her personal butler from when she was smaller and has always been by her side. They have grown up together from as teens to adults now. He was always well mannered to her, knew his duties as a young butler and would always be there for her whenever she needed help.
Mizumi sipped the rest of her tea and took a bite out of the sweets readied for her. Sho poured some more tea into her tea cup. “Do you mind telling me about it?” he asked her as if he has always done such things. She gave him a scornful look. “Not right now; I have work to do.” She straightened up and gathered up her papers to look at them one more time. The only thing she needs is the bottle design to complete the new line of skin care products. She smiled at her accomplishment for not very many woman of her status and power can be successful.
Sho laughed at her. “Well when ever you want to tell me, I’m always here.” He then suddenly sat down in the chair besides her relaxing. Mizumi, obviously used to such acts gave him the look and said bluntly “Is it time for your break already?” he smiled at her after pouring the tea and taking a satisfying sip. “Yes mizumi it is.” She scowled at him. “Don’t be so familiar with me!” she snapped at him. “If Nii-chan catches you, like this around me you’ll be in trouble!”
Sho shrugged it off. “Kazu and are good friends remember? I’ll be fine madam.” He happily ate the sweets he prepared himself. “tch for a butler you sure like to stuff yourself..” she muttered under her breath. Sho didn’t hear him of course. She kept watching him enjoy the sweets and laughed at him. Certainly he hasn’t changed at all.
Her phone then rang a tune. The tune meant for her current boyfriend. Smiling she picked up the phone from the table and opened it. Sho looked over conspicuously, but the phone was too far. “It’s satoshi bulter sho.” Mizumi said bluntly to him. Sho nodded and cleaned up. His break time was over. “What did he say madam?”
mizumi gave him the same look from earlier. “eeehh you sure do have an on and off switch like him don’t you…” Sho smiled and bowed accepting the compliment. “he wants to have dinner tonight and asked if I was busy. Hmm…do I have any plans tonight Sho?”
Sho put down the dishes and took out his notebook. “what time madam?” she looked at the text again. “7:30 pm” she replied. Her butler nodded. “you’re free from 7pm and after.” Mizumi smiled widely being happy to see him. All the sudden, her phone was snatched out of her hands.
“Who are you texting? Don’t tell me you’re going out to another party again…” Nino looked at the phone. “Nii-chan! Stop it! I’m not going out to a party. Satoshi asked me if I was free for dinner. That’s all.” She took the phone back and put in her bag on the table. The son of Ohno Corp? I see…well okay. Just don’t be out too late.” Kazunari turned around and continued his walk back into the house. Sho followed shortly with the tea and sweets dishes.

Satoshi looked at his phone as he got into the car leavening from the company to home. He smiled at her reply that she was able to go to dinner. He wondered where they should go this time. He then decided to ask his driver. “Matsumoto-san do you know a good restaurant to dine at?” Jun rolled down the window and looked at him through the rear-view mirror. “A place for dinner huh? What kind of place?” Satoshi thought about it. He knew that Mizumi didn’t like very fancy places or high end dining even though they are so high up on the social scale. “A place that normal people go to I guess…”
Jun smiled and laughed lightly. “There is this place my best friend owns. It’s a family owned Chinese restaurant with great food near buy NTV television station. The service is excellent and the food is great.” Satoshi nodded. “un…that sounds good. Thanks Matsumoto-san. Remind met to reward you next time.” Jun chuckled. “There is no need to sir. As long as I am of service.”
