A Difference of Opinion
Last night I promised Gaerfie a kid free day, for taking such good care of me when I had no sleep. This morning I got up to get the kids and found a horrible sight! Gaerfie had left the diaper bag in the room and the kids had gotten into the tubes of diaper cream! They smeared on themselves, all over the walls, and their beds! I help my composure and called Gaerfie over to see what happened. I told him he had to help me before he started his kid free day. He went down to set up the shower. I started to clean the walls and then realized he did not come back up. I yelled for him and asked him why he was not helping me? He thought he was doing something more important by getting breakfast ready. We argued and he tuned me out. He took Katydid first with clothes and I left The Gnome in his room to think. I went down stairs and started dinner using the crock pot. When Katydid was done she sat down to breakfast. He then more roughly then Katydid brought The Gnome down stairs and started to chastise him. The Gnome was yelling in the shower and crying while Gaerfie was yelling at him. Then I heard the water change and I knew something wasn't right. To teach him a lesson I think Gaerfie poured cold water over The Gnomes head! This made me angry and I pulled the bathroom door opened. Gaerfie told me to get out and with out thinking I said, "Congratulations Gaerfie, you just crossed the line into child abuse!" I slammed the door and went back to Katydid. That was an over exaggeration, but I was pretty angry at him! The Gnome came out and had breakfast. I asked if he was ok, and he said yes. Gaerfie came out and made a bowl of cereal and took it outside. The kids finished breakfast and I told them they were punished and had to stay in their room till I said they could come down stairs. The both went up without any problems. I gated them in and then went to finish making dinner. Gaerfie announced he was leaving. I told him to leave the money he had with me so I could go birthday shopping today with The Mistress(it got canceled at 1330)and he threw me card at me and a dollar. he then left the house. Well I certainly didn't feel like eating breakfast now. I turned on the TV and proceeded to reorganize my pantry. Around noon I got the kids down and gave them lunch. Then I played with them and help them while we watched the food network. At 1400 they started to get tired. I put them down for a nap.
I don't understand what happened. While I was angry, I still recognized that they were toddlers. Yes they knew it was wrong, by not to the extent a six yr old would. I think Gaerfie over reacted and I don't agree how he handled it.
