So I called AmeriCorps today to set up my interview and they had me answer a couple pre-interview questions before I could make an appointment. Some of them were easy, others were pretty tough.
-Are you prepared to move away from everything you know? (loosely paraphrased)
--yes
-Ar you prepared to go without your personal belongings, like a personal computer, friends and family, etc?
--(ummmmm) yes
-Are you prepared to serve for 10 consecutive months?
--yes
-Are you prepared to not have your own living space?
--(uh) yes
Are you prepared to meet and live with people with different backgrounds and views as you?
--yes!

there were more but I can't remember them. Yeah. So there's that. My interview is set for April 12th (thursday) at 3pm. It will be about an hour long and we'll talk about my personal goals, my flexibility, my team-working skills, the legal issues??, and go into the program in more detail. So yeah. I've got a while before I have to even think about that. Now I just need to wait to hear from CAP. They emailed me and said they got 2 of my references so far (out of three). So hopefully they'll get back to me soon about setting up an interview so I can jetset out there to do that asap. I hope I can do it in May, because I'm afraid if I get accepted to AmeriCorps around May 15thish they might give me a short deadline to accept and I'd rather not turn them down without first getting accepted to CAP, or take their offer before really looking at CAP. But if I had to choose right now, I think it would be AmeriCorps. There's still plenty of time to think though, so who knows.

In other traveling news, I am so excited for this year. Here are the states I'll have hit by the end of the year (not including any states I might hit if I do AmeriCorps):
---New Jersey (check)
---Pennsylvania (check)
---New York (check)
---Georgia (check)
---Louisiana (check)
---Connecticut (check)
---Maryland (to visit Meaghan and to fly out to IL)
---Illinois (for flight to see Renee)
---Indiana (to see Renee)
---Florida (to see Lou)
---Kentucky (CAP interview)
---Tennessee (still very tentative. Meaghan's mom has a conference we might crash)
---Nevada (Las Vegas on family vaca, hottt)
---Arizona (family vaca, hitting the Grand Canyon of course)

and that is 7 states I've never been to. Awesome. I can totally make all 50 by the time I'm 30. hopefully. Alright, I'm done bragging.
