late night confessional

Ok, so I've been up for awhile now indulging in a guilty pleasure. See, I decided today that I deserve a bit of something shiny that just makes me all warm and fuzzy inside. So, after the vfw/ladies aux. meeting tonight I went to Hastings and bought the first half of season 1 of Glee. *giggle*

Yeah, I do kinda feel like the story lines are predictible (ahem*avatar*ahem) and borderline with a prime-time soap opera.... but... dammit, I love musicals! I love show choirs, and movies/tv shows about them. I can watch Sister Act 2 anytime no matter when I happen to catch it on or how far into the movie it is. I don't care if its nonsense, its a shiny fantastic bit of nonsense, and I love it. so there.

Anywho, I thought I had managed to watch all the episodes with the aid of hulu *loves hulu* But I discovered an episode tonight I had somehow missed. "Rhodes Not Takes" .... wow, how in the hell did I miss that episode. I felt horrible guilty towards the end. See, there's this invitational at the end, and the drunken cougar is singing Carrie Underwood's "Last Name". Well, turns out I'm a stereotype. Cuz the costuming for that song required everyone to wear jeans, big shiny belt buckles, rodeo shirts, and cowboy hats and boots. *drool* Now, it just so happens I find this v. v. sexy and every single male on that stage looked OMGfine! in that outfit. Even the gay one, he was rockin it. I'm sitting there thinging terrible horrible thoughts about all of them cuz they just look soo good, and then I think, "wow, going to special again! They're in high school! ... and Mr. Shu is a teacher! Bad Brandi!" giving myself a stern reprimanding. And then I remember... hang on, didn't you read an article about how they're all old? Yes! That's right! Finn is 26, I'm about to be... that's ok! Puck is in his 20s as is Mr. Shu. And oh yeah, I'm old enough to be a teacher too. So everything's good. I'm not going to special hell after all.

And with that being said, I'm pleased with my guilty pleasure, the key lime pie is coming out of the oven, and I'm off to bed with visions of singing cowboys dancing in my head. When will April and new episodes of Glee be here? *sigh*
